Wolf Creek Wanderers

FREE Program for those entering grade 8 - adult. Space is limited.
Held annually, five days in the summer.
Exploring Natural Science at Wolf Creek Park's New River Birding & Nature Center's Wetlands.

Wolf Creek Wanderers, Fayette County, WV

Participants work side-by-side with one of Discover magazines "50 Best Brains in Science," educator-naturalist Dr. Bill Hilton Jr., in-depth hands-on learning about watersheds, wetland ecology, Neotropical migrant and resident birds, and square-meter science while compiling an informative presentation to share when they return to school.

Students and life-long adult learners are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. The program not only provides great preparation for future advanced science learning, but it does so in a relaxed environment which strives to turn the week of activities into a ‘vacation’ experience. The Wolf Creek Park Wetlands Boardwalk is a phenomenal place in our own back yard to experience a wide array of nature-based moments that will create memories and spur a true appreciation of the natural world around us.

This program would cost hundreds of dollars per student in most other places, and to continue to make it available free-of-charge we depend on funding from generous donors.
